Grandma Weister's Cookies

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • Cook: 10 minutes
  • Serves: about 5 dozen cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. In large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars. Add eggs, one at a time; beat well. Add vanilla. In separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate chips.
  3. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
  4. Bake at 375 degrees for 9 to 11 minutes. Transfer to wire cooling racks.
